Where to Eat

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat this Easter, there are plenty of options in Collie. Here are a few of our favourites:

  • Barn-Zee’s – this brand-new burger joint is the hottest eaterie in Collie right now. Mouthwatering burgers with signature sauces in generous portions. Open 7am-5pm every day except Easter Sunday.
  • Colliefields – a licensed sit-down cafe with alfresco tables and a wide array of menu options. Friday and Saturday 8am-9pm, Sunday 11am-8pm and Monday 8am-3pm.
  • Federal Hotel – serving great pub grub right next door to us, but beware, they are closed for Good Friday. Open for meals 12-2pm and 5.30-8pm the rest of the weekend.
  • The Wagon – fabulous coffee and small bits served from a refurbished train wagon in Central Park in Collie. Open 6am daily, closing between 2pm and 4pm most days.
  • Tosca’s Boutique and Espresso – probably the best coffee in town and bonus – you can shop while you’re there! Open 8am-4pm daily.
  • Harris River Winery – enjoy generous share platters overlooking the winery, forest and dam. Open 12-3.30pm Friday and Saturday, 9.30-3.30pm Sunday and closed Monday.
  • Amaroo Deli & Cafe – fantastic meals if you don’t mind a bit of a trek to the north of town. Open 6am-2pm throughout the Easter weekend.
  • Kiosk at the Dam – head out and see the the famous mural and grab a bite to eat while you’re there. Open 9am-5pm, all weekend.

Places to Visit

There are plenty of things to see and do in Collie this Easter! Here are some of the best places to visit:

  • Collie Art Gallery is open 10am-4pm all Easter weekend, with a special exhibition of the finalists in the Collie Art Prize on display (one of regional Australia’s richest art prizes).
  • Pop Up Markets – browse through the displays and merchandise at the Pop Up Markets next to Green Being Eco Store in Forrest St. Saturday, 9.30am-2pm.
  • Men’s Shed Garage Sale – find yourself a bargain and help fundraise for the men’s shed activities on Saturday and Sunday from 8am. Be early to snaffle the best deals!
  • Coalfields Museum – wander through a quirky display of local memorabilia. Open daily 9am-3pm.
  • Replica Underground Coal Mine Experience – pop into the Visitor Centre to join a self-guided tour to explore this underground world.  Explore the history of coal mining in Collie, learn about different jobs the men did whilst working underground, the camaraderie of the teams, working with horses and the equipment used.  Experience the blast as the coal is removed from the face and don’t forget to look around for the critters that could often be found in these dark and damp working conditions. Tours held daily.
  • parkrun – work off that Easter indulgence and join in the Collie River Trail parkrun, leaving Soldier’s Park at 8am on Saturday.
